You Bought Me the Bhagavad Gita You bought me the Bhagavad Gita Ah Om, Ah Om You bought me a copy of Caravan too Ah Om, Ah Om Illusions will be burnt along the way light up the fire Ah Om ahh Om Brake out the muffins and tofu Ah Om, Ah Om Pass the elixir, the orange juice too Ah Om Ah Om Rise above the mediocrity Light up the fire Ah Om Encircle the parameters Spiraling inward Let go of the limiters Hey Allen Ginsberg Drive into the stratosphere Watch the ego disappear Don’t get hung up and linear Light the fire The Krishna temple is open Ah Om They serve up a bad ass vindaloo and Ah Om Everything’s becoming clean and clear Light up the fire Ah Om

Butterflies 02:21
Butterflies Butterflies fly in the sky oh the friendly skies oh the friendly skies Butterflies fly in the sky oh the friendly skies you gave your love to me and I’m high Look at all birds on the hill All the birds lying there still Not ready to fly Everyone you know will be gone oh the friendly skies oh the friendly skies Everyone you know will be gone oh don’t be surprised but you gave your love to me and I’m high Everyone you know will be gone Everyone is traveling along And so will I My butterflies Dance with me if you will I can feel the sun on my face You and I float into space like butterflies

Atom LSD 04:11
Atom LSD Sitting on a bench, by a fence there’s a smiley thing or two Flowers, evergreens, and Louise, and lovely shades of blue Meet me in the morning near my pulsing sidewalk theme And we’ll sail this rainbow dream Do you follow what I’m thinking Do you know what I’m drinking Look in my eyes, they’re electric skies I once was Adam B, but you can call me Atom LSD No matter what you do, déjà vu, I think we’ve all been here before The tears on your face, they erase, the misery behind that door Like Pavoriiti crooning another universal tune And it’s live from your bedroom Chorus Spaceship hipsters come take a ride Mushrooms clouds removed my insides Every word been changed from black and white
4.
Joe the Rainbow Oh Joe, won’t you be a rainbow (2x) It’s been a crazy long lifetime Let’s bid goodbye to all dividing lines Let’s love who we want to love Let’s love who we want to love Let’s be like birds and fly From sun up to sundown Let the hate be swept away by clouds Let’s be who we wanna be Let’s be who we wanna be Let your heart become unbound We know the tears have flowed like rain That all the raging rivers could contain We’re gonna love who we want to love We’re gonna love who we want to love Let the alienated proclaim

Where Have You Gone, Pete Brown? Poets come and poets go Words collide and cascade slow Pete Brown You took a laser to my head And a greener field became my bed Pete Brown, Pete Brown Are you traveling on the wind or idling downtown Are you laying low? It seems I’m out of luck, bullets came I learned to duck real low I don’t mean to bring you down I don’t mean to bring you down But we need you around Where have you gone, Pete Brown? Wedding bells and waterfalls The undertaker waits on call Pete Brown, Pete Brown But we don’t care, we are so weird Rainbows gather in our beard Pete Brown Pete Brown Are you resting through the cold, waiting blindfolded inquiring ? I’ve almost lost my head, everything you said makes me sing I don’t mean to bring you down I don’t mean to bring you down But we need you around Where have you gone, Pete Brown? In the forest no one used, I’m searching for a clue There must be something good to bring along The piece of sun you left is spinning like a rotary at dawn I don’t mean to bring you down I don’t mean to bring you down My ear’s pinned to the ground Where have you gone, Pete Brown?

Tree of Woe 02:06
Tree of Woe Outside my door tree of woe Leaves cover the floor, tree of woe Inside my mind, tree of woe I can’t leave it behind, tree of woe From where I stand, something has to give Beings want to live free and easy There is no wind tree of woe Now is the time to begin Tree of woe

Fort Lee Skyline Sometimes the sun can be quite blinding It might take you by surprise Sometimes you don’t know what your finding Something’s we don’t recognize Why not take a chance we’re moving On a similar place in time Life just needs a little tuning Love’s just waiting on a sign Oh to see the Fort Lee skyline and Othmar’s majesty Oh to see the Fort Lee skyline When you’re sitting here with me Won’t you sit with me? I’ve been hoping we’d be lazy Stroll the boulevard supreme Let the greedy call us crazy No need to try to swim upstream Sometimes the sun can be quite blinding Sometimes it’s all the light you need Something’s are just mesmerizing The love you give has been received

Margie and the Marxist (a mini mini opera) The Marxist: Margie’s from somewhere in Piscataway She clearly knows something I don’t She’s says Margie: I wonder why you’ve been dreaming your life away Pay attention do I have to hit you right upside your head The Marxist: That’s Margie, Margie from somewhere ---------------------- And I am a Marxist, and I don’t regret what I have to say Why is it always pay and pay? When business men they get away with business crimes that ruin my day What do you say? Margie: You’re just a middle class boy from Brooklyn town a middle class boy from New York You’re just a middle class boy from Brooklyn town The Marxist: No I am a Marxist, why keep all it to yourself When food is scarce on many a shelf You live alone with no one else I have one and you have twelve What do you say? (3x) ______________________________________________ Margie: Go read a Buddhist text and be nonviolent Maybe take up painting and you’ve gone silent Be the one domino, that cant be tumbled Be like a stone you know Instrumental The Choir: Don’t be fooled by the soul lobbyists, get the real thing (2x) Margie: The home in your heart is rent stabilized We’re gonna be there a while Til you see through that bad disguise Get the real thing The Marxist: I need the real thing _________________________________________________ My bass explodes like TNT Oh yeah my bass explodes I saw your face looking back at me Oh yeah my bass explodes Both: Like burning suns in outer space The Marxist: Margie’s from somewhere in Piscataway She clearly knows something I don’t She’s says Margie: I wonder why you’re here Are you here?

Purple Bongs and Stairways Wont you meet me at the gates where it all goes down Pack up your belongings, let go of this town Parking lot or stairway, you won’t need a sign There’s sunshine round the bend ignore the dotted line We’ll dance away the static lift the veil again You’ll be so ecstatic like dancing in the rain You’ll be cinematic you know what I mean when we reconvene Obstacles will vanish we’ll whistle up a tune Laughing with the sun, calling on the moon We’ll toast into the morning, let me paraphrase Purple bongs and stairways We walk familiar roads, little looks the same I barely know the places that I have been No blinding beams or street lights hide the stars tonight Is it just the start of something going right?

One Brain Cell Left One brain cell left Lou was a bit a fool, no one knows what to do Citizens were bereft Perhaps we’ll call clouds of blue Perhaps we try something new Call the translator, prepare the texts Bid goodbye to knowing what comes next Let a real sense of love come down Be a real gift of love Let a real sense of love come down around you Summon the mystics, ice the brew Call buddhas and masters of Kung Fu

39th Dimension Every blade of grass is alive Can’t you see? Look down the road awhile Every day of mine intertwines You and me we’ll never say goodbye Every blade of grass is alive Can’t you see, when you roll the dice If we’re going downtown Take a short cut around to the 39th dimension When your love flows endlessly You know I’ll be Somewhere close nearby When you tell me all that you know Perhaps I’ll go and have another try When your love is flowing endlessly Can’t you see, won’t you take a chance If we’re going downtown Take a short cut around to the 39th dimension Soon the sun and moon will be gone But for now we know that we belong Every blade of grass is alive Can’t you see, when you roll the dice If we’re going downtown Take a short cut around to the 39th dimension

tiny black bikini and mermaid tattoo I came out of the waves with my lips bright blue I’m moving like the ocean as I come into view I live in Luna Park, a Coney Island freak Surfing after dark, boy you wanna another peek I’m not your average girl walking down on your street Another summers day tiny black bikini and mermaid tattoo Eating cherry candy from the bottom of my knapsack Thinking bout a boy but you can't really go back Ruined my flip-flops, on the Boulevard Waiting for a break in a Brooklyn backyard A wonder wheel ride won't get you too far Chorus Drinking tea with Madame Katya she's gonna try to read my leaves But I don't wanna to know what she believes Gonna give my hand to the tattoo man Get the North star on my palm, split the scene and the sand I live in Luna Park, a Coney Island freak In a brand new dress from vintage boutique I'm not your average girl walking down on your street

You Make Me Dance the Cha Cha Love is like a rainbow; love is like rain When you came around, like love I became Cause you’re overflowing Like the Cauto in Cuba You’re like New Orleans on Mardi Gras You make me dance the cha cha You make me dance the way I feel You make me dance the cha cha Your love is real You make me move like Fred Astaire Like the Nicholas brothers on those stairs Like I’m floating on air, in this magic love affair You make me dance the cha cha Love is like an ocean, weightless in waves Love will flow around us, the rest of our days Just in case you’re wondering, who lit the sky Most likely its the sunshine in you and I

about

Summer of 2019 one of my oldest friends, one that I shared daily adventures with, was reminiscing about some early drug adventures, ones we were too young to have. Jokingly, he said you should write an album about these memories. I thought, that's an absurd and excellent idea, the musical palette will be very open wide. These songs were written in about in a month, and I mostly recorded it during the Covid quarantine. Thanks to the musicians for their incredible output and my Fort Lee comrades who always encouraged encircling the parameters and spiraling inwards.
